Sawdust Toilets

ARIDA CULTUS

It’s ok to happen… as long as it happens in the box.

Our Story

Hello! We are CULTUS, and you are more than welcome to our unboxing experience. We came up with the idea of a smart, comfortable, dry composting toilet that gives us all the opportunity to… get our shit together, literally.
All you have to do is step into the minimalist retro-future toilet, (that, by the way, will forever change the feeling you had before when entering a public toilet) and, you know, do your number.

What if we told you that we have a special box?
Intriguing, huh?

Cultus is a hi-tech, eco-friendly composting toilet, that will make you feel like Caesar meditating on his cultus. Simply put, we went back to the classic design of a sawdust toilet, and improved it in any possible way, creating an unrivaled quality toilet: CULTUS – shit in a box.

Why install a sawdust toilet?

Or, the elaborated version, because it`s:

Environmentally friendly

Arida Cultus doesn’t require any water or electricity to function. It also has a smaller carbon footprint than traditional toilets because it doesn’t require sewage systems and treatment plants to dispose of human waste.

Easy to maintain

Given the fact that it doesn’t need any water, Arida Cultus is easier to maintain. There is no need for a sewage system or pumping station, and the sawdust can be recycled as fuel and fertiliser, which provides an additional economic benefit.

Doesn`t pose any risk to groundwater

doesn’t pose any risk to groundwater, as it’s not a water-based system. Sawdust toilets are an old technology that’s been around for centuries, and they’re still in use today.

Doesn’t smell or breakdown

The biggest advantage of Arida Cultus is that it does not need to be laboriously emptied, nor does it smell repulsive, as is often the case with ecological toilets.

Looks aesthetically pleasing

to fit in with pretty much aMaybe you need to provide a public facility that is self-contained. CULTUS can cope with variable usage and requires minimal maintenance.

It`s a cost-effective system

that can easily be installed and cared for without you needing to lift a fingernything

Waterless

toilet is a relatively new design which offers a solution for places that require toilets where no sewerage exists.

Frequently asked questions

What is a sawdust toilet?
We think it’s the coolest way to return to nature what belongs to it without contamination. That’s why we came up with the idea of Cultus – a rentable, comfortable, smart, unique box that you can use as a toilet in a festival in the woods, an event in a city, or even in your own garden. Cultus is an ecological toilet that doesn’t waste water, doesn’t use any chemical substances but instead uses sawdust.
What can you put in a sawdust toilet?
Let’s make it clear from the start. It’s either pee or poo, and nature friendly TP too. Anything else goes to the garbage. We also recommend to put away all the negative vibes, and anything else keeping you from becoming the best version of yourself. 😉
What happens when a sawdust toilet starts to smell?
Definitely something awful! But we wouldn`t know much about it because the sawdust we use is organically perfumed. The waste we remove from the tank has no odor at all and, in fact, the whole system emits only the odor of the wood shavings we add and a light and fresh scent of lavender.
Are sawdust toilets safe?
Definitely safer than a WC (water toilet). First of all, if you somehow succeed in falling in it, you can be 100% sure that you won’t drown. Besides that, it’s safer for the environment, so why wouldn’t it be for you, Stardust?
What’s the end product of a sawdust toilet?
Very simply, you get what’s called humus (just one m). This is a top-soil like product that’s rich with organic materials and can be used on any garden where non edible plants are being grown. We`ll process it properly so this soil won’t smell and it`ll be full of nutrients that plants just love.
